Chicago, IL - Mar 30, 2004 (PRN): XDX Innovative Refrigeration (XDX®) announces its strategic relationship with Carrier Commercial Refrigeration(CCR) in an exclusive license agreement. Carrier Commercial Refrigeration will be the exclusive licensee of the of energy efficiency and performance enhancement technologies from XDX® in the Food Service, Commercial Refrigeration, and Light Industrial markets of the Spartanburg, SC based Original Equipment Manufacturer.
Carrier Commercial Refrigeration will exclusively offer the line of the revolutionary X-STREAM® and A.R.M.E.D.® valves and technologies from XDX® in the Carrier Commercial Refrigeration divisions of Beverage-Air, Russell Refrigeration, Cold Zone, Witt Refrigeration, Kramer Refrigeration, Tyler Refrigeration, Kelvinator, and International Cold Storage (ICS) branded refrigeration equipment lines. Refrigeration equipment from Food Service equipment to refrigerated and frozen display cases, evaporator coils or unit coolers and walk-in storage rooms, to compressorized equipment and equipment for specialty applications is now available with the patented XDX® technologies.
These divisions of Carrier Commercial Refrigeration are industry leaders in the food service, commercial and light industrial refrigeration industry segments that provide equipment through various methods of distribution. “As we focus upon setting a new industry standard of performance, we are excited at the market potential and at the synergy between the two companies,” stated David A. Wightman, President and CEO of the Arlington Heights based Technology Company. “CCR has been closely working with XDX through implementation of this industry-wide product, and it is a natural evolution in our growing business relationship.”
The patented ‘Annular Flow System’ and heat transfer process through use of X-STREAM® and A.R.M.E.D. ® technologies from XDX® differs from the ordinary inefficient direct–expansion feed method of a Freon-type refrigerant system in several ways. The process uses a special valve to allow a thin coating of refrigerant to line the entire inside of the evaporator tubing, resulting in rapid removal of heat from the product or conditioned space. Temperatures improve, the system runs less. Equipment performs better in this controlled manner of refrigerant feed. The process is applicable for food service and restaurant applications, supermarket and convenient store equipment, and the ultra-low temperature requirements of blood plasma storage. Food storage, cold rooms, and industrial processing equipment all benefit form this technology. Divisions of Carrier Commercial Refrigeration are industry leaders in each of these markets and customers benefit from having the performance enhancing products that are factory installed.
Independent Laboratories have tested and documented 18% to 24% energy savings with up to 66% extension to shelf life of perishable product with the implementation of the XDX® valve technologies. With energy costs rising and the importance that is being placed upon product quality and food safety, this technology offers a competitive advantage to the OEM and end-user alike.

The Air-conditioning market is a developing market for XDX®, as it completed its extensive four year Beta and ‘Due Diligence’ validation in 2003. The industry standard rates equipment in SEER. While this is a beneficial way to qualify equipment, XDX® allows for more rapid heat transfer, demonstrating the importance of SEER per hour consideration. The homes and commercial buildings using the new Mysticool® Blue valve from XDX® have reported savings between eleven and twenty-six percent (11%-26%) with improved performance and colder temperatures. XDX looks toward partnering with one of the three major air-conditioning companies with equipment currently equipped with the technology.
In 2004 and 2005, XDX Innovative Refrigeration looks forward to new product development, focusing in additional markets, and expanding after-market sales, where older equipment can be revitalized.
